Seasonal Explosion
With the oppressive heat of summer on the rise, not even the coastal felines of Felidemar can be spared from the effects of the extreme weather. Days are onerously hot with the sun beating down on the beaches and plains while the evenings are oppressively humid. Escaping either extreme is difficult. Even prey animals and the humans working to make emergency repairs to the highway due to the mudslide are finding these conditions severe. Many rest and on the hottest days hardly any prey or humans can be spotted around the area. It will take every cat a lot of fortitude to make it through the summer months without losing something - be it weight or more.
Draw your cat attempting to make it by in the summer heat. Your cat can eke their living out by either working together with another cat, sheltering from the sun or humidity or taking desperate measures to access hidden prey. The weather should be depicted as either sunny, drizzling and overcast or foggy. Each cat must be at least 75% visible and the weather should be clearly visible as either one of the three listed. With warm days brings a strange phenomenon to the lands of Felidemar - the rolling Marine Layer. Write an 800 word short story or RP your cat with another player for at least 3 turns each experiencing the rolling in of the marine layer. Are they perplexed by its sudden and rapid appearance? Afraid? Do they stumble around in the thick fog? Do they hope the rolling fog will bring out the prey? Or do they hope the fog will bring with it cool air and are willing to accept this change in humidity as long as they gain a respite from the heat? Have fun!
Spring 2019 Seasonal Prompts
Seasonal Explosion
As the air warms up, Felidemar's frozen lands give way to slush and rising waters. Not only that - there are some waters that are rising much, much higher than others. With the rising waters and warm weather returning, many animals can be found invading the lands of Felidemar. There's also an influx of migratory birds as well as awakening hibernating creatures adding to the weight of the creatures arriving into the feline's lands. With all this activity, every cat is sure to run into something at least once.
Draw a finished piece of your cat encountering a flock of birds or running into some of these plentiful prey or predators. Do the birds attack your cat for the right to territory, does your cat gorge of more plentiful prey or do they find themselves in a difficult situation with a predator of felines? You may collaborate on this section with one other member so long as the completed piece is still considered a finished image upon completion. Each cat must be at least 75% visible and must depict at least one bird, predator or prey in the image as well. (Prompt suggested by DasChocolate!) The warm weather also brings with it the new litters and babies of the creatures of Felidemar. RP your cat with another member of Felidemar encountering baby animals or a stray kitten OR write a 800 word story about your cat encountering baby animals or a stray kitten. You may RP with more than one member but all participants must have at least 3 posts for each member's part to count toward the prompt. Winter 2018/2019 Seasonal Prompts
Winter Woes
The cold of winter sets in upon the lands of Felidemar and even frosty snow can be found on the beaches of the area. This is the first time snow had ever reached as far as the beaches and cats are confused. Is the apocalypse coming? Will they starve because of how cold it is all across the lands of Felidemar? Despite this dismal feeling, there is also good feelings to be had as well. The cold brings strangers closer for warmth and for survival as the cats do their best to make it out of winter into spring.
Draw a finished piece of your cat reacting to the snow-covered beaches by themselves or with another cat. Do they worry at the sight? Do they rush forward to play in this unfamiliar snow on the sand? Or do they flee thinking some ethereal being is out to get them? You may collaborate on this section with one other member so long as the completed piece is still considered a finished image upon completion. Each cat must be at least 75% visible. The cold weather draws cats together to survive even when things look bleak in order to survive. RP your cat with another member of Felidemar working together to survive the winter OR write a 800 word story about your cat's struggles to survive the winter (including seeking out another cat to help them get through these difficult days). You may RP with more than one member but all participants must have at least 3 posts for each member's part to count toward the prompt.Have fun!
Fall 2018 Seasonal Prompts
The Opening of Felidemar
Felines of Felidemar have inhabited the location now for four years, establishing the area as a feral feline haven. However with the news spreading of this wonderful place, rogue felines and even kittypets who choose to live the feral life are starting to flood into the forest and beaches with their curiosity. With new faces and new scents, felines are starting to find themselves in nerve racking situations. Not every feline likes a new face and tense moments are bound to happen.
Draw a finished piece of your cat meeting an unfamiliar cat and how they react to this other feline. Do they fight for turf? Do they approach with open curiosity? Or do they flee the new perceived threat? You may collaborate on this section with one other member so long as the completed piece is still considered a finished image upon completion. Both cats must be at least 75% visible. Not every encounter is just between cats. RP your cat with another member of Felidemar encountering another species that lives in the Felidemaran region OR write a 800 word story about your cat's encounter alone with one of these species and how they react to the encounter. You may RP with more than one member but all participants must have at least 3 posts for each member's part to count toward the prompt.Have fun!

Hearts and Minds
It is the second spring in Felidemar and some cats are finally coming out of their shells to meet those they had escaped with. As the feline population grows from stragglers making there way in and kits becoming adults in season, worry and divides also pressure cats who are otherwise nice on the outside. Your prompt will be to respond to this scenario in the following ways:
Draw a finished piece of your cat meeting another, capturing their feelings toward the other be it curious friendliness or lidded suspicion. You may collaborate on this section with one other member so long as the completed piece is still considered a finished image upon completion. Both cats must be 80% visible.RP your cat with another member of Felidemar interacting with another either sharing suspicions or trying to mend relationships with other OR write a 800 word story about your cat's internal struggles upon the arrival of the second spring. You may RP with more than one member but all participants must have at least 3 posts for each member's part to count toward the prompt.Have fun!
